The Ministry of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Slovak Republic engaged Aspiro to establish the analytical foundation for automating eligibility checks on financial assistance disbursed under Slovakia’s Recovery and Resilience Plan. Working with a document corpus submitted by aid recipients, i.e. invoices, bank statements, and affidavits, Aspiro extracted and structured data from PDFs, assessed document quality and scan readability, and reconciled extracted figures against declared values to classify discrepancies and potential compliance issues. Aspiro evaluated and ranked three OCR/AI tools against the specific document typology, then designed the methodology, data model, and functional requirements for the future automated processing system. This assignment drew on a combination of our project management, digital transformation and AI expertise.
