Following the 2023 earthquakes, EBRD with Ilbank are investing in restoring water and wastewater infrastructure in Adıyaman, Hatay, Osmaniye and Malatya and supporting them in strengthening emergency response and asset management. Aspiro is leading a 3-year capacity building programme, starting with city hazard profiles and developing tailored curricula and training programmes covering crisis management standards, asset lifecycle risk management, ESG-related risks and climate resilience – all in technical cooperation with Middle East Technical University and its Earthquake Engineering Research Center. The programme also includes lectures a Study Visit to National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction in Taipei.
